So one day she decided to put an ad in the newspaper that read, "Free puppies to good homes". She had several people come and check us out, including a neighbor of hers, whom she definitely did not want to have to give any of us to, because well, you see, he would raise us for all the wrong reasons, I'd rather not come right out and say it, it's awful. Let's just say he wanted to really fatten us up.
Six weeks later, it was just my sister and I left. Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel were all picked up - they must have been real I Love Lucy fans! My new Mommy, Janice, arrived, but she wasn't alone. Her co-worker was with her picking up a puppy for his wife, to keep her company while she was pregnant and he went on deployment, it was also a birthday present for her as well.
At this time, I didn't realize that Janice wasn't interested in a puppy she was just helping out a friend because his wife and her used to be roommates when they first arrived in Guam. So I knew I had to put on the puppy charm if I wanted to go home with her! And I did! I chased my sister around, playing with her tail and talking a bunch.
And then the moment came, when she sat down in the grass, I walked right up to her and gave her a big huge sloppy puppy kiss! And it worked! Love at first site! We went home that day together and we loved each other unconditionally until the end! She named me Bandit, because I had a little mask around my eyes that made me look like a baby raccoon, also the way I was sneaking up to my sister and taking toys she was currently playing with and hiding them from her and most importantly, I stole her heart!
Me, scoping the place out, our first Christmas together in 1998 and one with my sister Bashful. At first, my ears were down and my tail was curled, then as I grew older, my ears went up and my tail straightened out and my little black mask went to my tail!
Mika and Nina today, remind me of Bashful and me back when we were puppies, the Yin and the Yang!
